Data Deletion

You can ask us to delete the personal data we hold about you at any time. This page explains how, what happens next, and how to disconnect Awtiz from your Meta (Facebook) and WhatsApp accounts.

1. Ask us to delete your data

  1. Email [email protected] with the subject "Data deletion request".
  2. Include your name and the email address or phone number you used with us. If you are a client, include your company name and, for WhatsApp, the business phone number.
  3. We may ask you to confirm the request from that email or number so that no one else can delete your data.

We confirm receipt within 48 hours and complete the deletion within 30 days. We will email you a confirmation with a reference number when it is done.

2. Disconnect Awtiz from Facebook or WhatsApp

If you connected your business through our WhatsApp signup, you can remove our access yourself at any time:

  • From Facebook: go to Settings and privacy → Settings → Apps and websites, findAwtiz, and select Remove.
  • From Meta Business Suite: open Business settings → Accounts → WhatsApp accounts, select your account, and remove Awtiz under Partners or Connected apps.

When you remove our app, Meta tells us and we stop accessing your account at once. We then delete the data we received from Meta for your account within 30 days, unless you ask us to keep it for export first.

3. What we delete

  • Your contact details and enquiry messages.
  • For clients: user accounts, access tokens, WhatsApp account details, templates, contacts, messages, bot content and bot conversations.
  • Copies in backups are overwritten within 35 days.

4. What we may have to keep

Indian tax and company law require us to keep invoices and accounting records for 8 years. We keep only what is required, and use it only for that purpose.

5. If you are a customer of one of our clients

If a business messaged you on WhatsApp or you chatted with a business's AI bot run by Awtiz, that business controls your data. Ask the business first. You can also write to us and we will pass on your request and help them complete it. To stop WhatsApp messages from a business right away, you can reply STOP or block the number in WhatsApp.

Data held by Meta or WhatsApp themselves is governed by their privacy policies. You can manage it from your WhatsApp and Facebook settings.
